Most challenges on homebuilding projects don’t begin on site, they start much earlier, when key decisions are made without clear cost insight, proper sequencing, or an understanding of risk.

This live introductory session is designed to help you step back from the noise, understand the bigger picture, and approach your project with greater clarity before committing time, money, or energy in the wrong places.

This is about making informed decisions early, and feeling confident about the path ahead.

You don’t need drawings, planning approval, or a finalised brief, just an interest in approaching your project properly.

  • common early missteps — and how to avoid them

The session is practical, experience-led, and grounded in real projects.

How the session works


The session is live and runs for approximately 60 minutes, including time for questions.

It’s designed to be educational and exploratory, there’s no obligation to join anything afterwards. The aim is simply to help you understand whether this approach is right for you and your project.

About the host


The session is hosted by Oliver Steele-Perkins, a Chartered Construction Manager with extensive experience delivering complex residential projects.


Through Homebuilding Essentials, Oliver supports homeowners in planning and navigating their projects with clarity, confidence, and control, helping them make better decisions long before work begins on site.
